TITLE:  Iowa 251, Madison County

 

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Iowa 251 begins in the City of St. Charles and proceeds northeasterly approximately one mile to the Madison‑Warren county line.

 

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑251‑0 (3), between the City of St. Charles and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 251 from Morgan Street easterly and northeasterly to the east corporation line of St. Charles to city jurisdiction on November 24, 1980.

 

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑251‑0 (2), between Madison County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 251 from the east corporation line of the City of St. Charles northeasterly and easterly to the Madison‑Warren county line near the NE Corner Section 24‑T75N‑R26W to county jurisdiction on September 15, 1980.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended the commission approve deleting the present description of Iowa 251 in Madison County from the primary road system.

 

Remove Iowa 251 and its extension in Madison County as follows:

 

St. Charles:

 

Beginning on an unnamed street at Morgan Street; thence easterly and northeasterly to the east corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

 

Beginning on the east corporation line of the City of St. Charles, connecting with an unnamed street; thence in a northeasterly and easterly direction through Section 24‑T75N‑R26W to a point on the Madison‑Warren County line at a point approximately 30 feet south of the NE Corner Section 24‑T75N‑R26W, Madison County (NW Corner Section 19-­T75N‑R25W, Warren County).

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

 

Due to a review of our Primary Road System Records, Iowa 251 in Madison County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

 

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

 

It is recommended that the old description of Iowa 251 in Madison County be deleted and the new description, as referred in the attached detailed description, be included in the Primary Road System effective upon the adoption of this resolution.

 

Locate Iowa 251 and its extension in Madison County as follows:

 

St. Charles:

 

Beginning on an unnamed street at Morgan Street; thence easterly and northeasterly to the east corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

 

Beginning on the east corporation line of the City of St. Charles, connecting with an unnamed street; thence in a northeasterly and easterly direction through Section 24‑T75N‑R26W to a point on the Madison‑Warren County Line at a point approximately 30 feet south of the NE Corner Section 24‑T75N‑R26W, Madison County (NW Corner Section 19-T75N-­25W, Warren County).

NOTE: Designation to become effective upon completion and opening to traffic of Relocated Iowa 251, more specifically Madison-­Warren County Project FN‑1067.
